Programs for Educators

BRCC offers presentations on a variety of topics for students of all ages (preschool through college). Each presentation is tailored to suit the needs of the group. Some of the topics we are available to discuss include, but are not limited to:

  • Body Rights: Body privacy. Good touch/bad touch. Secrets. Safety Rules. Who to tell.
  • Sexual Harassment: What is it? What students can do if it's happening to them.
  • Sexual & Dating Violence: Setting personal boundaries. Communication. How to help friends who disclose violence. And who students can talk to if this happens to them.
  • Creating Healthy Relationships: Friends. Dating.
  • Rape Culture: Viewing and analyzing media content. What kinds of messages do we get from the images that are all around us?

Our educators can develop activities for single or multiple sessions and for core subjects such as reading and social studies. Here are some of the activities teachers have requested:

  • Role plays
  • Group discussion
  • Reading and children's literature
  • Age-appropriate videos
  • Interactive games
  • Creative and expressive art projects
  • Creating an group art project to display in school

BRCC can also be called upon to help to engage students in school-wide abuse & harassment prevention awareness campaigns.
