Creative Community Contributions

Men of Centre College (Top Row) and Transylvania University (Bottom Row) walked a mile in heels to raise awareness about violence against women.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Students at Centre College (top row) and Transylvania University (bottom row) participated in "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes," The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence. These participants ditched their comfortable tennis shoes and donned fashionable footware in an effort to educate their campus community. "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" is gaining momentum internationally as a fun and effective way to raise awareness about--and ultimately put a stop to--sexual violence.

Penny Wars

A big thank you to Fayette County's Parks & Recreation (especially Sandy and Leslie) for their help with organizing a Penny War between the summer camp programs of Northern Elementary and Stonewall Elementary schools. The two camps collected as much change as they could and the group with the most--Stonewall Elementary--won the competition. In the end everyone is a winner when we come together to help make our community a safer and happier place to live!
